Syttende Mai Celebration & Annual Meeting

Sunday, May 18th at 1:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon of special music and fellowship.  We’ll have a brief meeting, special music program, and then beverages and Scandinavian treats will be served. Feel free to bring your own favorite homemade goodies to share.

Crossings and Connections: Norwegian Crossing to North America

Crossings and Connections is a conference commemorating 200 years of Norwegian migration, June 18–June 22, 2025 at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota. The conference is organized and presented by the Norwegian-American Historical Association, the Norwegian-American Historical Association – Norway, the Norwegian Teachers and Researchers Association of North America and the Norwegian Department at St. Olaf College.

The conference will offer a wide variety of experiences that will appeal to scholars and researchers of Norwegian migration. It will also include more general talks geared to the public. They are planning a multi-sensory event including opportunities to explore Norwegian-American music, dance, historic sites, and more! One stop on the historic tour is a visit to the Historic Trondhjem Church on June 18th.  For more information, click here: 200 Crossing.

Annual Luncheon and Ice Cream Social

Sunday, July 20th from 12:00 to 3:00 pm

This year the featured band is called “Hotdish Casserole” and  will play hits from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s.  Jeanie and Dave Johnston formed this band and are great friends of TCPS.  We are looking forward to a fun-filled afternoon with their special brand of music and singing!  Bring your appetite — hot dogs, sloppy joes, potato salad, pie and ice cream will be available for purchase.  And then bring home some tasty treats from the Bake Sale table!

 

Country Garden Tour & Art Market

Starts: Saturday, July 26, 9:00 am

Ends: Sunday, July 27, 4:00 pm

The day includes a visit to the historic Trondjhem church with a rain garden and a true Norwegian bake sale, alongside a market filled with baked goods, preserves, and garden gifts.  The tour includes gardens located in Lonsdale and the surrounding area.  This event supports the ministries of the Lutheran Trondhjem Church.

 

Lefse Making Class

Date: Saturday, October 18, 2026

Time: 10:00 am – 12:00pm

Tickets: $40 per person

Location: Historic Trondhjem Church, 8501 Garfield Ave, Lonsdale MN 55046

Join us at the Historic Trondhjem Church to learn how to make traditional Nordic lefse just in time for the holiday season! You’ll learn the entire process of lefse making including potato preparation, mixing, rolling, baking, folding and storing as well as some tips and tool recommendations. This is a hands-on class. Each participant will go home with a few pieces of lefse along with family recipes from our Trondjhem ancestors.
